Victor Smialek and Franz Woess Racing stayed in Germany and shifted over to Hockenheim.
Race 1 got off to a good start despite the rain and Victor kept up with the front pack. When drier conditions prevailed he was only able to maintain a fourth place standing and a crash from the car in front secured him a 3rd place finish. The second race saw quite a bit of action as Victor got off to a good start maintaining a fourth place position with only 10 minutes to go. Victor capitalized on a puncture from the second place car, moving him up to third, and used his momentum to catch second. After a two-lap battle, Victor broke through for a net-lead due to a penalty for the other driver, earning his first overall win of the season.
“[It was the] first track where I raced before. I struggled with the setup throughout the weekend. The rain brought me closer but in the dry conditions I was lacking a little pace. [First] race was mostly uneventful. The [second] race was awesome. I had a great battle which was the highlight of the race for me, [I] finally got an overall win. Now onto the next one.”.
Victor and Franz Woess Racing head back to Italy at the Mugello Circuit.
