Victor Smialek and Franz Woess Racing were back in Italy at the famed Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola Circuit.
Earning a 3rd place, 2nd-in-class, finish in the first race, Victor got off to a good start and battled hard but was unable to overtake the leaders. His second race unfortunately got off to a bad start and he lost time getting his spots back. In a battle for fourth, the person in front spun out causing a red flag where Victor slid down to 5th overall, 3rd-in-class, with the count back.
“[My] best weekend so far - almost fully in tune with the car. [I] only had one practice session to [get] used to [the] track as it rained for the qualifier and one practice. But the pace was good in race one and I was fighting up front for 2nd place. Race 2 had a bad start and [I] lost some positions so I lost time making them back up. [The] race pace was really good as I was matching the leaders, [but] got unlucky with a red flag and finished 4th on track but 5th with count back. Overall, [a] really good weekend.”.
Victor and Franz Woess Racing will return to the Vallelunga Circuit in Italy where Victor started his season.
