Lausitzring Race Recap

June 29, 2024

Victor Smialek and Franz Woess Racing made their debut at the Lausitzring in Germany.

Victor got off to a great start in the first race but ran out of track while trying to pass; ultimately leaving him behind a train of drivers and earning a respectable 3rd place finish. In almost identical fashion, the second race played out similarly where Victor got off to a great start but was unable to gain any ground. Despite overtaking a driver for second on lap one, Victor ultimately relinquished the spot a few laps later and settled for a 3rd place finish.

“Brand new track [for me]. [I] had good pace and was on course for pole, but had traffic on my fastest lap and the one after. [I] had good starts but it wasn't enough to overtake before the first corner. [It’s a] hard track to pass at and had to settle for third in both races.”

Victor and Franz Woess Racing head to Hockenheim, Germany.
