Victor Smialek and Franz Woess Racing made their debut at Italy’s Monza Circuit.
Hampered by a 10 minute race delay and what is believed to be an illness from a marshall, the first race was cut short. During the only green flag laps, Victor brought home a 2nd place finish despite being overtaken on a safety car restart and navigating contact between the second and third cards - where he bounced up to third with 2 laps remaining and went full send in turn one. The next race also saw some safety cars, causing Victor to relinquish his lap-one lead and lose three spots after a bad restart. It was too late to be aggressive on the last lap and he brought home a 4th place finish.
“Thursday’s test day was rained out which wasn't great as I have never raced here and my opponents have. Friday’s practice was also wet so the first dryish laps I got were in qualifying and it was shortened which did not help, so I was going into the race blind but that's life. [I] managed to get second and fourth which I think was ok considering the track time I had.”.
Victor and Franz Woess Racing travel across Italy to the Misano World Circuit.
